Dmitriy Shnol among the speakers of the UniSat 2.0 launch ceremony

On November 28, within the opening event of the UniSat 2.0 program, one of the speakers will be Dmitry Shnol, academic director of the “Oxbridge” school, author of mathematics textbooks, a jury member of the Russian creative competition of mathematics teachers.

Theme: Geometry of the Sky

We will start with how, in ancient Greece, people first thought about the Earth as an astronomical body, realized that the Earth is spherical, and measured its size. It is remarkable that the mathematical knowledge of the modern 8th grader allows him to understand how the geniuses of the past solved this problem.

Then we will discuss how mathematics allows you to choose the most economical route for a modern airplane. And you will continue from the planes to the satellites.

Event will be organized at the Ministry of Innovative Development, on November 28, at 14:00.
